A teenager was killed and two others were injured when a fuel tanker collided with a soil-carrying three-wheeler in Gopinathpur area of Gopalganj Sadar upazila on Tuesday morning.
The deceased was identified as Bayezid Khan, 14, son of Maruk Khan and a resident of Uttarpara village in the upazila.
Kashiani Highway Police outpost inspector Abul Hashem Majumdar confirmed the incident adding that the accident occurred around 10 AM on the Dhaka-Khulna highway. A Khulna-bound fuel tanker struck the Nosimon from behind, leaving Bayezid and two others severely injured.
The victims were rushed to Gopalganj 250-Bed General Hospital where doctors pronounced Bayezid dead. The other two injured, including the driver of the Nosimon, are receiving medical treatment.
Following legal procedures, Bayezid's body was handed over to his family. Authorities are investigating the incident, added the police official.
