Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have seized smuggled goods worth Tk 66.46 lakh at Bijoynagar upazila in Brahmanbaria district.
According to a press release, acting on a tip-off, a patrol team from Brahmanbaria Transit Camp under Cumilla's Sarail Battalion (BGB-25) conducted the operation around 5 AM on Friday (December 20) in Chandura Bypass area of Chandura union. Upon sensing the presence of BGB personnel, the smugglers abandoned the goods and fled the scene.
The seized items include-- 43,440 pieces of various Indian capsules, 289 pieces of medicine, 39 bottles of Q-Carpene olive oil, 1,000 pieces of Mond cigarettes.
The total market value of the confiscated items is estimated at Tk 66.46 lakh, as stated by BGB officials.
The process of handing over the seized goods to Akhaura Customs Office is currently underway, added the press release.
