Motorcyclist killed in Jashore road collision

A collision involving two motorcycles left a man dead at Monirampur upazila in Jashore district on Saturday. 

Afzal Hossain, 35, a resident of Halsa village in Shyamakur union, was the eldest son of Sabed Ali Sardar.

According to locals, the incident happened around 10:30 AM at Sharnpur area when Afzal was en route to his business at Jhikargacha upazila his motorcycle collided head-on with another motorcycle coming from Monirampur. He sustained critical injuries in the crash.  

Local residents rushed him to Jhikargacha Upazila Health Complex where doctors referred him to Jashore Sadar Hospital for advanced care. But Afzal succumbed to his injuries while being transported to the hospital, with doctors later confirming that he had died en route.  

Monirampur Police Station officer-in-charge Noor Mohammad Gazi confirmed the incident.
