Student injurred in July-August movement dies

A teenager madrasa student, who was injured in a police shooting during the anti-discrimination student movement in July and August, passed away on Sunday night.

Arafat, 12, breathed his last while receiving treatment at Dhaka's Combined Military Hospital.  
Later, his funeral prayer (namaz-e-janaza) was held on Monday at the Central Shaheed Minar. Arafat’s brother, Hasan Ali, led the prayer, attended by family members, government representatives and student leaders.  

Notable attendees included Interim Government Adviser Nahid Islam, Arafat's father Shahidul Islam, special assistant for the Health Ministry Sayedur Rahman, Press Secretary to the Chief Adviser Shafiqul Alam and prominent student leader Sarjis Alam.
