Housewife found hanging inside locked room

The deceased, identified as Shabnam, 25, was second wife of Jahangir, a street food vendor in the town, and daughter of late Abdur Rahman of Laxmanpur Pirpara area under in Bangalipur union of the upazila. Shabnam is survived by her one-year-old daughter.

According to locals, Shabnam and Jahangir got married one and a half months ago and had rented a house in Noyabazar. On the day of the incident, Jahangir reportedly locked the house from outside and left in the morning. As time passed, neighbors grew suspicious and alerted the police. 

Upon arrival, Assistant Police Superintendent (Syedpur Circle) A.K.M. Wahidunnabi and officer-in-charge of Syedpur Police Station Faheem Uddin broke the door and discovered Shabnam's body inside.

OC Faheem Uddin confirmed the incident, stating that the body has been recovered and further investigation is underway.  

The cause of death and circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear. Authorities are working to locate Jahangir, who is currently missing, to determine his involvement, if any, added the OC.
