3 AL leaders arrested in Feni

Three leaders and activists of Awami League and its affiliated organizations have been arrested in a police raid in Feni. 

They were later shown arrested in various cases related to casualties during the student-public movement against discrimination.
Police said they were arrested in raids conducted in different parts of the district on Wednesday and Thursday. In the raids, Union Awami League General Secretary Abul Kalam Azad was arrested from Baligaon in Sadar Upazila around 9 pm on Thursday. Sadar Upazila Jubo Mohila League Joint Convener Sajeda Akter Saju was arrested from Lalpul in the suburbs this morning and Titumir College Chhatra League Vice President Sheikh Ibrahim was arrested from Charganesh village under Sonagazi Upazila on Wednesday night.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Feni Model Police Station Marm Singha Tripura said Among the arrested, Sajeda and Ibrahim were sent to jail through the court on the pretext of arrest in a case filed over casualties during the movement. In addition, Abul Kalam Azad is an accused in the case of casualties during the movement. He was sent to jail through the court on Friday morning.
