A youth was killed in a collision involving a motorbike and a tractor at Kaliganj upazila in Jhenaidah district on Friday.
The incident occurred at around 4 PM on the Baliadanga-Shishutala road in Baliadanga area of the upazila.
The deceased was identfiiedas Rana Hossain, 20, son of Monsur Ali from Pirojpur village in the upazila.
According to Kaliganj police, Rana was heading towards Baliadanga Bazaar riding his motorbike when it collided with a sugarcane-laden tractor. The collision was severe and Rana was crushed under the tractor's wheels, dying instantly.
Fire service personnel arrived promptly at the scene, recovered the body, and handed it over to the police.
Kaliganj Police Station officer-in-charge Shahidul Islam Hawladar confirmed the incident and stated that legal proceedings are underway. The tractor involved in the accident has been seized.
