Female UP member gang raped, killed feeding poison in Narail

A union parishad member has been gang raped and later, killed by feeding poison in Narail.

The rapists recorded the video of the rape incident and demanded Tk 2 lakh as ransom to her, claimed the victim's son.

The 46-year UP member, elected member for the reserved seat of a union in Narail's Sadar, died at Jashore General Hospital on Friday (December 27).

Narail Sadar Police Station OC Sajedul Islam said police are investigation the incident.

According to the victim's son and family, one named Rakibul called her saying to take her money which he borrowed from her. Then she went as per their direction while Rakibul along with others raped the UP member. Then they demanded Tk 2 lakh to her. She warned them to disclose the incident. Hearing this, the rapists fed poison to her. When she returned home, she fell sick and she was admitted to the Jashore General Hospital on Friday morning. She described all the incidents to her son while she was in hospital. She also mention the name of rapists.

The Up member died at 11AM on Friday while undergoing treatment at the hospital.
