2 arrested in Savar student murder case

Detective Branch (DB) of police have arrested two accused in connection with a student murder case that occurred during the anti-discrimination student movement in Savar. 

The arrests were made on Saturday afternoon following a raid in the Savar Bazaar Road area.  

The arrested individuals are Krishna Pal, 38, from Palpara and Mohammad Rubel Mridha, 34, from Kazi Mokomapara in Savar municipality.  

According to DB police, Krishna Pal and Mohammad Rubel Mridha are named in two cases filed at Savar Police Station during the anti-discrimination student movement. Acting on a tip-off, a team led by SI Anwar from the DB North unit of Dhaka District conducted a special operation in Savar bazaar road area and apprehended the duo.  

OC Jalal Uddin of the Dhaka District North DB said, "The arrested individuals will be produced in court on Sunday in connection with the cases."
