Bus owner arrested over toll plaza crash

Now, Dablu Bepari, owner of 'Bepari Paribahan', was arrested by the highway police in connection with the accident at the toll plaza of Dhaka-Mawa Expressway in Keraniganj on Friday that left six people dead.

Police arrested him from Madripur's Shibchar around 12:30AM on Sunday.

On Friday night, Rapid Action Battalion and highway police jointly arrested bus driver Nurunnabi and another one from Narayanganj's Siddhirganj over the incident.

Highway police's additional DIG AKM Akhtaruzzaman Bosunia said the bus was taken out of the garage the day before the accident. But it has no fitness. And the vehicle was being operated by a drunk driver with an expired license.

Owner Dablu Bepari was also an accused in the case filing by the victims' family.
