Worker dies as godown wall collapse in Lalmonirhat

The incident took place on the night of Saturday at Munshirhat area of Jagatber union in the upazila. 

Abdul Hamid, 50, was son of late Entaj Uddin from Kalirthan Chatrapar area in Patgram municipal town. He worked as a laborer involved in loading and unloading goods.

According to local sources, a group of workers was unloading bags of corn inside the godown when a wall suddenly collapsed. While some workers managed to flee in time, Abdul Hamid was near the wall and had no chance to escape. The wall fell on him and he died at the scene.

Patgram Police Station officer-in-charge confirmed the incident adding that police were immediately dispatched to the site. 

A UD (unnatural death) case has been filed with the police station and necessary actions will be taken based on investigation, added the OC.
