IU Shibir gets new leadership for 1-year term

Islamic University (IU) unit of Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir has announced its newly elected leadership, including president, secretary and organizing secretary, for the upcoming year.

A press release shared on Shibir’s official Facebook page on Saturday night confirmed the appointments. 

Yousuf Ali from Al-Hadith and Islamic Studies department (2017-18 session) was elected as president. Rashedul Islam of Al-Fiqh and Law department (2017-18 session) was appointed secretary, while M. Jakaria Hossain from Al-Quran and Islamic Studies department (2018-19 session) was nominated as organizing secretary.

The elections took place earlier in the day during a members’ assembly, where the president was chosen through a vote by the unit members. 

The ballot papers were signed by Shibir Central President Nurul Islam Saddam, who later announced Yousuf Ali as the winner and administered the oath of office.

The ceremony was attended by Shibir Central President Nurul Islam Saddam as chief guest, with Central Students’ Rights Secretary Amirul Islam conducting the event.

Also present were Central Research Secretary Md Fazael and IU professors Dr. Shaheed M Rezwan, Dr. Mostafhizour Rahman, Dr. Abdul Bari and Dr. Kamrul Hasan.
