Man beaten to death in N’ganj over land dispute

A man was beaten to death following a dispute over land in Narayanganj Sadar upazila on Monday.

The deceased was identified as Musa Mia, son of Arafat Rahman, a resident of Krokarchar area of Alirtek union in the upazila.

According to sources, Musa was critically injured during an altercation with rivals and was taken to Narayanganj Victoria General Hospital in the afternoon, where doctors declared him dead.

Following the incident, police arrested two women-Rubina and Fatema-in connection with the incident.

Narayanganj Sadar Model Police Station sub-inspector (SI) Sakhawat Hossain confirmed the incident and said that the body has been sent to morgue for an autopsy.

The exact cause of death will be known after receiving the autopsy report and legal procedures are underway, added the OC.
