BNP Secretary General Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Sunday said that, one political party in the country is spreading lie marking the elections, while another party is trying to disrupt the elections.

He said that both actions are ways of cheating the people of the country, and neither of these conspiracies will succeed.

Speaking at an election rally Kazipara area of Mohammadpur Union in Thakurgaon Sadar Upazila he said that a political party is standing against them but spreading lies.

He questioned whether it is right to mislead people by lying.

Fakhrul said that many mothers and sisters are simple-minded. In the name of Quranic education, they are being told that if they vote for the scale symbol, they will go to heaven.

He asked how this could be possible and whether voting for a specific symbol can really send someone to heaven.

Mirza Fakhrul said that some people may try to create trouble. However, he said he does not think anyone can stop the election. He said the people of the country have woken up and will vote this time.

He urged people to stay alert so that no one can create chaos at polling stations.

Talking about the short campaign time for the upcoming 13th National Parliament election, the BNP candidate for Thakurgaon-1 said he has to move around a lot and that he has grown old.

He said he cannot run like before, but he is still running. He added that if he stands before the people, he hopes they will think about voting for him. He said he believes this will be his last election.

He also held public meetings in the Masterpara, Board Office, Martgaon, and Tojamul mills areas of the same union.

Fakhrul said the administration, police, and military all want a neutral election. He said everyone wants fair voting, and this gives people an opportunity to vote properly.

He added that this time something new has happened. He said the "boat" is gone and has fled to Delhi. He said he warned them not to do such wrong actions, or they would not find a way to escape.

He claimed they left by helicopter, leaving their workers and leaders in danger. He said they do not want a leader who puts workers at risk and then runs away.

Mirza Fakhrul said that in his long political career, he has never been involved in corruption or irregularities.

He said he is 78 years old, his hair has turned gray, and he has been with the people for 35 years. He said even after losing elections, he never left the people.

Fakhrul asked whether people would prefer someone they have never seen before. He said no one can accuse him of earning money illegally through politics. He said proudly that he did not steal anything.

He said this is why he stands before the people with confidence and asks for their votes.

Criticizing Jamaat-e-Islami, he again said that another party is lying to mislead people. He repeated that mothers and sisters are being told that voting for the scale symbol will take them to heaven, which he said is not true.

Mirza Fakhrul said there is no fear about the election. He said some people may try to create trouble, but no one can stop the election.

He said the people of the country have woken up and will vote. He urged everyone to guard polling centers so that no one can disturb the voting process.

Later, while speaking at Tojamul's Mill-Chatal in Mohammadpur Union, he said the country belongs to both Hindus and Muslims.
He said it is not a country only for Muslims or only for Hindus, and everyone has equal rights.

He said many mothers, sisters, and brothers are afraid they may be attacked or their houses may be burned if they vote.

Fakhrul Islam assured them that they will be able to vote safely. He said not only the government, but also the army, the administration, and everyone else will stand by them. He described this as a shared responsibility.
