A 75-year-old man was allegedly beaten to death by his neighbour following a minor dispute in Khulna city on Friday night.

The deceased was identified as Babul Molla, a resident of Matipotti slum in the city.

According to sources, Babul reportedly had a verbal altercation earlier in the day with his neighbour, Nasu, over spraying water in the area.

The dispute escalated later in the night when Nasu, along with three others, assaulted Babul around 10:00 PM, leaving him critically injured.

Later, he was rushed to Khulna Medical College Hospital, where the on-duty doctors declared him dead.

Khulna Sadar Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Kabir Hossain confirmed the incident and said that legal action is underway.
