Election authorities in Jamalpur have begun distributing essential voting materials to polling centres across the district ahead of the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Election.

On Wednesday afternoon, Assistant Returning Officers started handing over clear ballot boxes, ballot papers, seals, ink, stamp pads and other necessary election equipment to presiding officers at Upazila Executive Officer offices.

The materials are being transported under strict police and Ansar security to 623 polling centres across the district’s seven upazilas, covering five parliamentary constituencies.

Jamalpur Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Naznin Akhtar said the distribution for Jamalpur-5 (Sadar) constituency has begun.

“Out of the total centres in Sadar, 130 were identified as vulnerable. CCTV cameras have been installed at all these high-risk centres, and the remaining centres already had cameras. Now, every polling station is fully equipped with CCTV,” she said, emphasizing the administration’s commitment to a completely neutral and smooth election.
