Foundation stones laid for four projects at Kaliganj

KALIGANJ, GAZIPUR, Mar 6: Foundation stones of four development projects were laid in Kaliganj Municipality of Gazipur under the Integrated Urban Governance and Infrastructure Improve-ment Project (IUGIP), aiming to improve local infrastructure and enhance civic services.

The foundation stones were inaugurated on Monday afternoon at a programme organised by the municipality. The event was attended by lawmaker from Gazipur-5 constituency AKM Fazlul Haque Milon as the chief guest.

Speaking at the programme, the MP said improving the living standards of municipal residents through planned development remains a priority for the government.

He said the implementation of the projects would significantly improve communication systems and civic amenities in the municipality.

The programme was presided over and supervised by Kaliganj Upazila Nirbahi Officer and administrator of Kaliganj Municipality ATM Kamrul Islam.

Addressing the event, he said proper implementation of the projects would further accelerate infrastructure development in the municipal area.

Among others present at the programme were Upazila Project Implementation Officer Abul Kalam Azad, Public Health Engineering Department engineer Abul Hossain, Municipal Assistant Engineer Mannur Ahmed, BNP leaders Solaiman Alam, Farid Mridha, Lutfar Rahman, Ibrahim Pradhan, and Monir Uddin Pathan Mithu.

Leaders and activists of the BNP and its associate bodies, local journalists, representatives of civil society, and other distinguished persons were also present.

Officials expressed hope that the projects implemented under the Integrated Urban Governance and Infrastructure Improve-ment Project would play a significant role in the overall development of Kaliganj Municipality.
