2 held with huge smuggled goods in Ctg

Bangladesh Coast Guard (BCG) arrested two individuals along with a huge amount of smuggled goods from Patenga area of Chattogram city on Sunday.

The identities of the arrested are yet to be known.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of Coast Guard Patenga Outpost officials conducted a drive on the Karnaphuli River near Chinaghat under Patenga Police Station at around 2 PM, searched a cargo boat and seized a large quantity of foreign cigarettes and dried fish worth around Tk 1.21 crore from the spot.

Confirming the incident, Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Sabbir Alam Sujan said that the arrested individuals, along with the seized goods were later handed over to Patenga Model Police Station for further legal action.
