Man electrocuted at wedding ceremony in Narail

A man was electrocuted at a wedding ceremony in Sadar Upazila of Narail on Friday night.

The deceased was identified as Nakul Mallik, 52, son of Satish Chandra Mallik, a resident of Musuri Village in the upazila.

Police and local sources said that wedding ceremony of Nakul’s niece was going on at their house at night. At around 8pm, he came in contact with a live electric wire while welcoming the groom’s party, which left him unconscious.

The family members then rescued him and took him to Narail Sadar Hospital, where the on-duty doctor declared Nakul dead.

Officer-in-Charge of Narail Sadar Police Station Ajoy Kumar Kundu confirmed the incident, adding that an unnatural death case was filed in this connection.
