The price of gold in the domestic market has been reduced further. The price of 22-carat gold, the best quality, has been cut by Tk 5,482 per bhori (11.664 grams), bringing the new price to Tk 2,41,445 per bhori.

This price has been reduced in view of the decline in the price of acid gold (pure gold) in the local market. The new price has been effective from 10 am on Wednesday, the Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) said.

The BAJUS Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring Committee decided to reduce this price in a meeting on Thursday. Later, this information was given in a notification signed by the committee chairman Dr Dewan Aminul Islam Shaheen.

Earlier, the price of one bhori of good quality gold was reduced by Tk 15,338 in two stages on March 19. A week after this price reduction, the price has now been reduced further.

Now, the new price of the best quality or 22-carat gold has been reduced by Tk 5,482 taka to Tk 241,445. The new price of a 21-carat gold has been reduced by Tk 5,190 to Tk 230,481.
