HSC exams to begin on June 7, SSC exams set for April 21

The Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations will commence on June 7, the Ministry of Education confirmed on Monday, while authorities have issued strict directives to ensure fair conduct of Secondary School Certificate (SSC) exams starting April 21.

The announcement came following a meeting of education boards at the Secondary and Higher Education Division of the Ministry of Education on Monday. 

Board officials agreed to conduct HSC and equivalent examinations in the first half of June and discussed implementing a uniform question paper system across all education boards nationwide.

The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) has issued an 11-point directive to center secretaries and field-level officials to ensure the SSC and equivalent examinations are conducted in a fair, orderly and cheating-free environment.

The directive warns that strict legal action will be taken against center secretaries and other responsible officials if any negligence or carelessness leads to undesirable situations during the examinations.
