Geometry

I have found some love
unconsciously; I have furnished
some flower-baskets with conviction.

In the intense heat of this summer-
The water has dried up,
And the corridors of the sky have not yet fallen,
But you are eager to understand
Euclidean geometry.

I bow down-
May the water-deity Jaleshwar descend
with His meditation,
Becausethere is still much left
of the flower's imagery.

(Note: Jaleshwar: Hindu god of water)

The writer is a poet, translator, literary critic and a banker
