Akbar Hossain, press minister at the Bangladesh High Commission in London, has resigned from his post, citing personal reasons.

He announced the decision in a Facebook post on Friday (April 10), stating that it was not possible for him to continue in the role due to personal and family circumstances.

''There is no other reason behind this decision,'' he wrote.

Hossain was appointed to the position in November 2024 by the interim government on a contractual basis for a two-year term, according to a notification from the Ministry of Public Administration.
