Measles vaccination campaigns are underway in different parts of the capital, with initiatives taken both by government authorities and the opposition Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP).

Health Minister Sardar Md Sakhawat Hossain Bokul inaugurated the programme at Nagar Bhaban at 9AM, initiated by the Dhaka South City Corporation.

At the same time, Dhaka North City Corporation started a separate campaign at a school field in the Korail area of Mohakhali. State Minister for Health and Family Welfare Dr MA Muhit was present as the chief guest at the event.

Meanwhile, BNP organized its own measles vaccination programme at the premises of Mohammadpur Maternity Hospital (14/35 Shahjahan Road), also starting at 9AM. Dr. Ziauddin Haider, a member of the BNP Chairperson's advisory council, attended the program as the chief guest.

Under this program, all children aged between 6 months and 59 months will receive the MR vaccine.

Vaccination will be carried out daily (except weekly holidays) from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM at designated centers.
