Mirza Abbas shifted to Malaysian hospital from Singapore

BNP standing committee member and Prime Minister's political adviser Mirza Abbas has been admitted to a hospital in Malaysia.

Party's media cell member Shayrul Kabir Khan confirmed the development on Wednesday.

He stated that Mirza Abbas travelled from Singapore to Malaysia on April 13 for further treatment.

Earlier, on March 15, Abbas was flown to Singapore General Hospital by air ambulance from Dhaka after his physical condition deteriorated.

Prior to that, on March 11, he suddenly lost consciousness while drinking water during iftar. As his condition did not improve, he was admitted to Evercare Hospital later that night.

Mirza Abbas was elected as a Member of Parliament (MP) from the Dhaka-8 constituency in the 13th National Parliamentary Election, defeating Nasiruddin Patwari, chief coordinator of the Jatiya Nagorik Party (NCP).

Further details regarding his current condition have not yet been disclosed.
