Info minister visits ailing Barishal journo at hospital

BARISHAL, Apr 18: Information and Broadcasting Minister Md Zahir Uddin Swapan MP has come forward with humanitarian assistance for the former president of Barishal Press Club, journalist Ismail Hossain Negaban.

Ismail Hossain Negaban, the Barisal correspondent of The Daily Observer, is undergoing treatment at Bangladesh Medical University Hospital in an ailing condition. 

Upon receiving the news, Minister Zahir Uddin Swapan rushed there on Saturday morning and inquired about the physical condition of the ailing journalist. 

The doctors said that all kinds of preparations for the surgery have already been completed on Ismail Hossain's body. As a result, the surgery will be possible very soon.

Ismail Hossain Negaban, who broke the hip joint of his left leg, was recently admitted to Bangladesh Medical University Hospital on the advice of doctors after receiving treatment in Barishal for the past few months.

The Minister also inquired about Ismail Hossain's family members. At that time, the Minister also handed over a donation cheque of the Bangladesh Journalist Welfare Trust for Ismail Hossain's medical assistance.
