Two electrocuted in two districts

Two people were electrocuted and two others injured in separate incidents in Narayanganj and Gaibandha districts in two days. 

NARAYANGANJ: A young man was electrocuted and two others were injured while installing a deep tube well in Hajipur Cemetery Road area of Bandar Upazila in the district on Wednesday morning.

The deceased Ahmed Ali, 40, was the son of late Amanullah Member of Ward No. 4 East Hajipur area and an office assistant at Hajipur Government Primary School.

GAIBANDHA: A youth was electrocuted at his father-in-law's house while harvesting ripe mangoes at Khanggua Village in Sundarganj Upazila of the district on Tuesday afternoon.

Deceased Shafiqul Islam, 26, was the son of Rashidul Islam of Daodarpur Union in Sadullapur Upazila and son-in-law of Manik Miah. 

Sundarganj PS OC Shaheen Mohammad Amanullah said Shafiqul climbed up a mango tree in the afternoon to harvest ripe mangoes with a bamboo stick. At that time, the raw bamboo stick came in contact with an electricity cable passing by the tree and he was electrocuted. 

Being informed, the men of Rural Electrification Board recovered the body in presence of police and handed it over to the relatives.
