Feud, financial dispute behind teen gang leader killing

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Deputy Commissioner (Tejgaon Division) Ibne Mizan has said the killing of Asadul Haque, 28, also known as "Lambu" Asadul, in Mohammadpur was driven by prior enmity and a financial dispute.

The victim was lured out of his home by acquaintances and later stabbed to death, he said.

Mohammadpur police have so far arrested four suspects-Akhtar Hossain, 45, Md Munna, 24, Miraj Fakir, 22, and Nayan alias Khokon, 24. They were detained from Keraniganj, where police also recovered a motorcycle and equipment used in the killing.

Separately, RAB-2 arrested two more suspects-Asadul Islam and Md Shawon-from the Metro Housing area in Mohammadpur.

Meanwhile, a court has granted a four-day remand for the six accused. The order was issued on Saturday afternoon following a remand application.

Speaking at a press briefing at the DMP Media Centre on Minto Road, DC Ibne Mizan said investigators initially identified the suspects using technical support.
