Top terror ‘Auto Sajal’ arrested 

Police have arrested alleged top criminal Ismail Hossain Sajal, popularly known as “Auto Sajal”, along with three associates during a raid in Dhaka’s Jatrabari area.

The other arrestees were identified as Md Bappi, 28, Md Hanif, 40, and Md Shamsunnahar, 45. Firearms, bullets, drugs and cash were recovered during the operation conducted on Thursday night.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Additional Commissioner (Crime and Operations) S N Md Nazrul Islam disclosed the information at a press conference at the DMP Media Centre on Friday.

He said police learned during primary interrogation that the firearm used in the attack on a Department of Narcotics Control (DNC) official had been supplied by Sajal, whom police described as the top criminal in the Wari division and a key figure in the illegal arms and drug trade.
