2 held with 900 litres of diesel in Kushtia

Police arrested two individuals along with approximately 900 litres of diesel allegedly stockpiled for illegal profit in Kushtia’s Daulatpur upazila on Sunday night.

The arrested were identified as Manik, 35, a resident of Haringachi village and Shraban, 25, from Jhaudia village.

Acting on a tip-off, police conducted a drive at Jhaudia area under Rifaitpur union in the upazila and arrested the duo with huge stockpiled fuel.

During the drive, police recovered around 900 litres of diesel that had been stored and stockpiled in the hope of making more profits.

Daulatpur Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Md Arifur Rahman confirmed the detention and said that the arrested have been produced before the court after filing a case against them in this connection.

No exemption will be given to such activities, added the OC.
