A fire broke out at a textile waste (jhut) warehouse in Sastapur area of Narayanganj's Fatullah upazila on Friday evening.

Eight units of the Fire Service and Civil Defense are battling to bring the blaze under control at the site located near the Dhaka-Narayanganj Link Road.

The fire reportedly started around 7:00 PM in a warehouse used for storing garment scraps.

Due to the highly flammable nature of the materials, the blaze spread rapidly to adjacent structures, including several other warehouses, a tea stall, and a motorcycle repair shop.
Witnesses reported seeing towering flames, which triggered widespread panic among local residents.

No casualties or injuries have been reported so far. Firefighters arrived promptly at the scene to prevent the fire from spreading further into the densely populated industrial zone.
Additional units from nearby stations are also reportedly en route to reinforce the operation.

Fire Service and Civil Defense Deputy Director Abdullah Al Arefin confirmed that multiple teams are working to contain the situation.

The cause of the fire and the extent of the financial damage are yet to be determined and will be investigated once the blaze is fully extinguished, he added.
