National University Vice-Chancellor ASM Amanullah said a special roadmap has been formulated to eliminate session jams by 2027, alongside broader reforms in academic quality, skills development and institutional governance.
Speaking at a press conference at the university's Dhanmondi campus on Friday, he said: "A special roadmap has been formulated to reduce session jams. I hope there will be no session jams at National University by the end of 2027."
He warned that undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in colleges lacking qualified teachers and adequate facilities may be shut down after review.
"Many colleges do not have teachers and adequate facilities. We are reviewing these institutions. Colleges where undergraduate and postgraduate courses are not conducted properly will be closed," he said.
The vice-chancellor said emphasis is being placed on communicative English and ICT education, while new courses in artificial intelligence, data science, cyber security and robotics will be introduced to build future-oriented skills.
