The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has decided to conduct a special joint operation to recover government weapons looted from various police stations across the country.
The law enforcement agency has also announced that anyone providing information on the missing government weapons will be rewarded confidentially and securely.
The elite force RAB give such information in a press statement on Tuesday.
According to the notice, a nationwide special joint operation has been planned to recover all missing government weapons. RAB has been assigned as the lead coordinating agency for the operation.
The agency sought public cooperation in providing accurate information and reporting related to the missing weapons.
It said informants would be given rewards in a confidential and secure manner.
RAB has opened several dedicated hotlines for providing information. The confidential numbers are 01777711441, 01777711442, 01777711443, 01777711444 and 0255669999.
Information can also be shared through imo, WhatsApp, Telegram and Viber, in addition to direct phone calls, RAB said.
On August 29, Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed told journalists after a meeting in Rajarbagh that a special unit had been formed to recover looted and illegal weapons. The unit had already started working with intelligence support from various agencies, he said, adding that officials had been advised to intensify the operation.
