
JAMALPUR, Apr 26: Faridul Kabir Talukder Shamim, Member of Parliament from Jamalpur-4 constituency, has declared a zero-tolerance policy against drugs.
He made the announcement while addressing a drug prevention campaign and discussion meeting organized by the Sarishabari Upazila Administration at the Upazila Complex on Saturday. He was speaking as the chief guest.
The MP also urged the youths to raise their voices against drug abuse.
He said that drug abuse has reached an alarming level in society. Families, educational institutions, and society as a whole must work together to protect the younger generation. No one involved with drugs will be spared.
The meeting was presided over by Acting Upazila Nirbahi Officer Liza Ritchil.
Among others, Upazila Agriculture Officer Anup Singh, Health and Family Planning Officer Dr Debashish Rajbangshi, Officer-in-Charge of the police station Mohammad Iqbal Hossain, President of the Imam Association Mufti Abu Saeed Qasemi, and teacher Ziaur Rahman spoke.
