Sunnydale won double crowns in the Mini School Handball Tournament (boys' & girls') beating their respective rivals in the finals held at the Shaheed (Captain) M. Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium on Monday.
In the boys' category, Sannydale defeated Nirjhor Cantonment Public School and College by 5-2 goals in the final, avenging a previous group-stage defeat against the same opponents.
In the girls' category, Sannydale continued their dominant run, defeating Viqarunnisa Noon School & College 5-3 to claim the title.
Viqarunnisa Noon School & College had to content with the runners-up position.
Sannydale's Md. Adian Shams was named the best player in the boys' category for his impressive performances while Walia Hossain of Sannydale was named the best player in the girls' category.
In the third-place matches, Motijheel Model School and College defeated Navy College 5-1 in the boys' division, while Sher-e-Bangla secured a narrow 1-0 win over Nirjhor Cantonment Public School and College in the girls' division.
Mahbub-ul-Alam, Secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, was the chief guest in the final and distributed the prizes.
Bangladesh Handball Federation general secretary Salahuddin Ahmed along with other federation officials, including Raschida Afzalun Nessa and Md. Mizanul Islam, were among others also present in the prize distribution ceremony. �"BSS
