
JAMALPUR, May 7: Under the supervision of the newly appointed Superintendent of Police (SP) of the district, 43 Trainee Recruit Constables (TRCs) have been selected on the merit list through a transparent and impartial process. In addition, 9 candidates have been kept on the waiting list.
Verification, health examination, and form-filling activities for the candidates were completed on Thursday morning at the Jamalpur Police Lines.
According to a press release issued by the district police, a total of 3,873 candidates from the district applied. Following a seven-stage "knockout system", physical tests and document verification were conducted over three days.
On April 15, 2,863 candidates underwent the first phase, and of them 1,718 passed. On April 16, in the second phase, 1,661 candidates participated various tests, with 998 qualifying. On April 17, in the third phase, out of the 989 candidates, 495 passed.
Subsequently, out of the 495 candidates, 490 collected their admit cards for the written test through depositing only Tk 56 online. Of the 490 candidates, 488 participated in the test on April 27 at Jamalpur Ideal School and College. On May 6, the written test results were published, and 78 candidates passed. They later underwent viva and psychological tests. After completing all stages, 43 candidates were finally selected and 9 were placed on the waiting list.
The candidates will later be informed of the dates for preliminary medical tests through their respective police stations. Final health examinations will be conducted at Rajarbag Police Hospital and Jamalpur Sadar Hospital. After this, the selected candidates will be sent to the Police Training Centre for basic training.
SP Farhana Yasmin said, "Candidates were selected solely on the basis of merit and qualifications."
