Nezam-e-Islam Ameer Sarwar no more

Sarwar Kamal Azizi, central Ameer of the Bangladesh Nezam-e-Islam Party and former Nayeb-e-Ameer of Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh, passed away on Friday at around 5:30 pm at his residence in Padua Union under Lohagara upazila of Chattogram. He was 79.

Family members said the veteran Islamic scholar had been suffering from various old age complications for a long time.

He is survived by his wife, two sons, seven daughters, and a large number of followers and admirers. Leaders of different political, social, and religious organisations expressed deep sorrow at his passing.
