Husband killed, wife-children burnt in N'ganj compressor blast

A man was killed and his and children were severely burned in a refrigerator compressor explosion in a residential house in Narayanganj.

The incident took place around 6:30AM in the Kutubpur Rakibazar area near Shibu Market in Fatullah on Monday morning.

Confirming the death resident doctor of National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery, Shawan Bin Rahman, said Md Kalam had been admitted to the hospital with around 95 per cent of burns.   

His wife Salma with 60 per cent of burns, his son Munna, 12, with 30 per cent, daughters--Munni, 7, with 35 per cent and Kotha, 10,  with 52 per cent. All of them stated to be critical and are undergoing treatment at the emergency department.

According to neighbour Md Hasan, a loud explosion shook the area in the morning, prompting neighbours to rush to the house where doors and windows had been blown off. The injured were later pulled from inside and rushed to the hospital.
