Bangladesh fast bowler Nahid Rana was named the ICC Men's Player of the Month for April 2026 after his impressive performances in the ODI series against New Zealand.
The 23-year-old pacer became the first Bangladeshi cricketer to win the award since Mehidy Hasan Miraz claimed it in April last year. Rana beat Oman captain Jatinder Singh and UAE pacer Ajay Kumar for the honour.
Rana played a key role in Bangladesh's 2-1 ODI series victory over New Zealand, taking eight wickets in three matches at an average of 16.75 and an economy rate of 4.46. He was also named Player of the Series.
After taking 1 for 65 in the opening match, Rana bounced back strongly in the second ODI in Mirpur with a career-best 5 for 32, dismantling the New Zealand batting line-up as the visitors were bowled out for 198.
He continued his fine form in the series decider in Chattogram, taking two more wickets to help Bangladesh secure the series win.
"It's a great feeling to be named the ICC Player of the Month after performing well against a world-class side like New Zealand," Rana said in an ICC statement.
He also thanked his teammates for their support and said the home series victory would remain a special memory in his career.
