Nazim Uddin Ahmed emerged champion of the 39th National Snooker Championship 2026 as Bangladesh's premier cue sports tournament concluded with a grand prize-giving ceremony at the Dhaka Boat Club on Sunday evening.
Nazim produced a composed and clinical performance throughout the tournament to secure the national crown and a cash prize of Tk 100,000. Syed Rafiz Zaman finished runner-up and received Tk 50,000, while the two semi-finalists earned Tk 20,000 each for their achievements.
Nazim also pocketed an additional Tk 20,000 special award for registering a break of 50 or more during the championship, underlining his dominance on the green baize.
The championship, organised in association with the Bangladesh Billiards and Snooker Federation, drew leading cueists from across the country and highlighted the rising standard of snooker in Bangladesh.
State Minister for Youth and Sports Aminul Haque attended the closing ceremony as chief guest and handed over the prizes among the winners. SM Jahangir Hossain was present as special guest, while Dhaka Boat Club president Rubel Aziz and federation president Brig Gen Sarkar Muhammad Shamsuddin (retd) joined as guests of honour.
