The newly formed Ad-hoc Committee of the Bangladesh Wushu Federation paid tribute to former President Ziaur Rahman and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia on Tuesday, marking its first collective public engagement after assuming office.
The federation officials laid floral wreaths at the mausoleum of the late President and Prime Minister and offered prayers for the eternal peace of their souls.
According to a federation press release, the delegation was led by Bangladesh Wushu Federation President Saiful Islam Bhuiya. General Secretary Dildar Hasan Dilu, Senior Vice-President SM Shahidul Haque Bhuiya, Treasurer Habibur Rahman Siddiqui, Joint Secretary AKM Shahidul Alam Monir and other executive committee members were also present.
The initiative reflected the federation's ceremonial start under its newly constituted leadership as it looks to steer the martial art towards its next chapter.
