Six months after the publication of the final result of the 45th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) examination, the formal gazette notification is yet to be issued, leaving 1,807 selected candidates in continued uncertainty over their appointments.
Although the Public Service Commission (PSC) published the final results on November 27 last year and recommended 1,807 candidates for cadre posts against 2,309 vacancies, the recruitment process has remained stalled at the stage of police verification and administrative clearance.
Candidates say the prolonged delay has disrupted their lives. Many report that they resigned from previous jobs after the results were announced and are now facing financial and psychological stress due to the absence of official appointment orders.
One successful candidate, speaking anonymously, said, "Many candidates have left their previous jobs after the final result. Now, due to the delay in publishing the gazette, we are living in uncertainty."
Another candidate said, "Families have already begun to plan for a stable future but we are now "under extreme pressure due to prolonged verification".
Officials acknowledge that the police verification process is nearing completion but confirm that all files have yet to reach the Ministry of Public Administration. State Minister for Public Administration Abdul Bari said the gazette will be issued once verification files are fully received, stating that the process is ongoing.
