BNP Secretary General and LGRD Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Thursday said incidents of rape, child abuse and murder reflect a deep erosion of morality, social responsibility and human values in society over the years.

"Our drive against these heinous crimes will continue," he said.

In a verified Facebook post, Fakhrul said the BNP remains committed to continuing its efforts against such inhuman acts. He said the party wants to help build a safe Bangladesh where children can grow up free from fear.

Fakhrul also said laws and government actions alone are not enough to curb such crimes, stressing the need for a strong nationwide social movement.

He urged families, schools, madrasas, teachers, religious leaders, the media, social organisations and citizens from all walks of life to come forward together.

He said children must be taught respect, humanity, responsibility and the dignity of women.

Mirza Fakhrul added that protecting children means protecting the future of Bangladesh. He concluded his message by calling on everyone to unite for positive social change.
