British maritime agency reports ‘external explosion’ near vessel off Oman coast

The UK Maritime Trade Operations center said on Tuesday that it had received reports of an “external explosion” near a vessel about 60 nautical miles off the Omani coastal capital of Muscat, reports Anadolu Agency.

Some fuel leaked into the sea, but all the crew members and passengers are safe, it added.

Authorities are looking into the incident, the center said.

No further information on the incident was immediately available.
