Brazil wrapped up their preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup with a 2-1 victory over Egypt in an international friendly, thanks to a decisive second-half strike from Endrick.

The young forward, who had not scored for Brazil since March 2024, ended his long goal drought with a clinical finish to hand Carlo Ancelotti's side a morale-boosting win ahead of the tournament.

Brazil made a bright start and took the lead in the seventh minute. Bruno Guimaraes won possession near the Egyptian penalty area and fired home with a precise finish to put the five-time world champions ahead.

Egypt, however, responded quickly. Three minutes later, Marquinhos misplaced a pass in a dangerous area, allowing Zico to seize possession. The forward raced through on goal and calmly beat goalkeeper Alisson to level the score at 1-1.

Brazil continued to dominate possession and created several opportunities before the break through Vinicius Junior and Igor Thiago, but neither side could find another goal as the teams went into halftime level.

Ancelotti made wholesale changes after the interval, introducing several fresh players while resting key starters. The move paid off almost immediately.

Just minutes into the second half, Raphinha dribbled past a defender before finding Endrick in space. The striker made no mistake, producing a composed finish from inside the box to restore Brazil's lead.

The goal marked Endrick's fourth for Brazil. His previous three international goals all came in 2024, against England and Spain in March and Mexico in June.

Brazil focused on maintaining their advantage for the remainder of the match, avoiding unnecessary risks with the World Cup set to begin. Egypt introduced Mohamed Salah in search of an equaliser, but the African side struggled to break down Brazil's defence.
The match ended 2-1 in Brazil's favour, giving Ancelotti's men a winning finish to their World Cup preparations.

Brazil will begin their World Cup campaign against Morocco in Group C on Saturday. Scotland and Haiti are the other teams in the group.

Egypt, meanwhile, will open their tournament against Belgium on Monday. Iran and New Zealand complete Group G.
