Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Tarique Rahman, is expected to visit China in late June, 2026, on his second official state visit since forming the government.

The visit is expected to further strengthen Bangladesh-China bilateral relations and open a new chapter in their comprehensive strategic cooperation, said Deputy Speaker Kaiser Kamal on Thursday, June 11, 2026.

He made the remarks while delivering a speech at the 7th China-South Asia Cooperation Forum held in Kunming, China’s Yunnan Province.

In his address, the Deputy Speaker highlighted the historical background of long-standing diplomatic relations between Bangladesh and China.

He noted that the visits of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman to China in 1977 and 1980 laid a stronger foundation for bilateral ties. He also mentioned that former PM Khaleda Zia’s visits to China in 1991 and 2002 elevated the relationship to a new level.
