The group-stage action of the FIFA World Cup 2026 continues on its second day with co-hosts Canada and the United States set to begin their campaigns in front of home supporters.

Two key fixtures are scheduled for the day, with both North American sides aiming to make a strong start in the expanded 48-team tournament.

Canada face Bosnia and Herzegovina in Toronto
Canada will take on Bosnia and Herzegovina in a Group B clash at Toronto Stadium. The match is scheduled to kick off at 1:00am Bangladesh time on June 13.

Backed by a passionate home crowd, Canada will look to capitalize on home advantage and secure three points. Much of the spotlight will be on captain Alphonso Davies, whose pace and attacking flair are expected to pose a significant threat to the Bosnian defence.

Bosnia and Herzegovina, however, are unlikely to make life easy for the hosts. The European side will hope to rely on tactical discipline and defensive organisation to frustrate Canada and pull off an early upset.

United States take on Paraguay in California
Later in the day, the United States will face Paraguay in a Group D encounter at Los Angeles Stadium in California. The match will kick off at 7:00 am Bangladesh time on June 13.
Led by Christian Pulisic, the United States enter the tournament in encouraging form and will be aiming for a winning start on familiar territory. Home conditions and strong local support are expected to boost the Americans’ confidence.

Paraguay, known for their disciplined defensive structure and quick counter-attacking style, are expected to provide a stern challenge, setting up an intriguing battle between the United States’ attack and the South Americans’ resilient backline.
Due to the time difference, both matches will be played in the early hours of June 13 in Bangladesh. Under the official tournament schedule, however, they are part of the June 12 matchday of the FIFA World Cup 2026.
