The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has increased the salaries of cleaning staff at Mirpur's Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium by 50 percent, fulfilling a commitment made by BCB President Tamim Iqbal during his tenure as a member of the board's ad hoc committee.
The decision was announced on Thursday by BCB Director Sayeed Ibrahim Ahmed in a Facebook post, where he described the salary hike as part of the board's broader commitment to the welfare of all individuals involved in Bangladesh cricket.
"Today, I am happy to announce a raise in the salaries of the cleaning staff at Mirpur Cricket Stadium, a part of the commitment from our President Tamim Iqbal when we came on board as ad hoc members to look out for not just our cricketers, but the whole team that help ensure that cricket rolls onto the field," Ibrahim wrote in his facebook post today.
"Cricket is not just about the players wearing the national jersey. Behind every match, every training session, and every successful event is a dedicated team whose efforts often go unnoticed," the post added. "BSS
