Re-excavation of Singizani Canal progressing fast

GAIBANDHA, June 18: Re-excavation work of Singizani Canal from Nurulla Beel to sluice gate of the Bangali River under Gobindaganj Upazila of the district has been progressing fast.

The Department of Disaster Management and Relief is implementing the work at the cost of Tk 1.03 crore to make the water flow of the canal functional and to reinstate the bio-diversity of the environment. 

To see the progress of the re-excavation work, Gaibandha Deputy Commissioner (DC) Masudur Rahman Mollah visited the canal on Wednesday afternoon and expressed his satisfaction over the work. 

In this connection, the DC also urged the concerned to do the re-excavation work of the canal properly without any irregularity and criticism.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer Syeda Yasmin Sultana and Upazila Project Implementation Officer Md Zindar Ali accompanied the DC during his visit.
