
SARANKHOLA, BAGERHAT, June 19: A Field School Congress organised by the Sarankhola Upazila Agriculture Office under the ‘Program on Agricultural and Rural Transformation for Nutrition, Entrepreneurship and Resilience (PARTNER)’ project with the aim of increasing agricultural development, nutrition, entrepreneurship and climate resilience was held at the hall of the Sharankhola Upazila Agriculture Officer’s office on Friday.
Bagerhat-4 Constituency MP Principal Abdul Alim was present as the chief guest at the event while Upazila Agriculture Officer Debabrata Sarkar chaired it.
Acting Upazila Nirbahi Officer Orthita Hawlader, Deputy Director of the Department of Agricultural Extension, Bagerhat, Apurba Roy, Upazila Women's Affairs Officer Abdul Hai, Upazila Cooperatives Officer Abdul Halim, Upazila Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Mawlana Rafiqul Islam Kabir and journalist Mahfuzur Rahman Bappi were present as special guests.
Trained men and women from different areas of the upazila and interested in agriculture participated in the programme. The speakers emphasised on modern agricultural technology, nutritious food production, creation of agro-based entrepreneurs and increasing the capacity of farmers to face the challenges of climate change.
After the discussion, the participants exchanged experiences, presented successful agricultural initiatives and exchanged views on new possibilities in the agricultural sector. At the programme, optimism was expressed about the government's various initiatives for agricultural development and their implementation at the field level.
